How does DIA Staking work?

DIA Lumina is ushering in a new era for trustless blockchain oracles where every data update is verifiable and every transaction is onchain. At the core lies a mechanism: staking.

Frequently asked questions on DIA staking

What is wDIA and why do I need it?

wDIA is the wrapped version of DIA. It's required to stake on Lasernet, enabling the added functionality for interacting with the staking protocol.

How do staking pools work?

Staking is flexible—no fixed pools or epochs. You can stake and unstake anytime, but there’s a 7-day cooldown period after requesting to unstake before you can withdraw your tokens.

What rewards can I expect?

Rewards are distributed as a variable APY. The APY may change over time depending on the total amount of DIA staked—fewer stakers means higher rewards, and vice versa.

Is there a slashing mechanism?

Not yet. Slashing will be introduced in future phases to penalize dishonest data reporting by feeders.

What’s the difference from Genesis Staking?

Genesis was a one-time launch phase. Now, staking runs on rolling, flexible pools and is directly tied to ecosystem utility.
